The so-called Beveridge Report influenced the founding of the welfare state in the UK. It was introduced by the economist William Beveridge, who proposed reforms address squalor, ignorance, want, idleness, and disease. The reforms led to the expansion of National Insurance and the creation of the National Health Service.
