The Edmonton Oilers were founded by William Hunter and Dr. Chuck Allard. The team is based in Edmonton, Alberta and they are among the teams of Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the NHL. They were originally members of Western Hockey League until they were admitted to NHL, thanks to having Gretzky on their team.
