The 1986 Stanley Cup Finals NHL championship series was contested by the Calgary Flames and the Montreal Canadiens. It was the first time these two teams had met in the playoffs. In game two of the series, Montreal's Brian Skrudland set an NHL and Stanley Cup Finals record for the quickest overtime goal in history, scoring just nine seconds into the first overtime period.
