"We Built This City" was released as Starship's debut single on their album Knee Deep in the Hoopla. The single received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1986. It has appeared on several "worst song" lists, Rolling Stone poll and Gentlemen's Quarterly magazine.
